Determine the height you need by sitting on a surface where your feet are on the ground and your legs are slightly over
The height of a toilet seat is important people 5’ tall need a different height than people who are 6’ tall.

Raised toilet seats come either with no clamps and with clamps (raised toilet seats with clamps are safer.
If you have balance problems you should consider a raised toilet seat with arms, or toilet safety rails, or a grab bar.
